Step 1

Thursday 26th February 2009

This  project is just underway for a client; it’s a bespoke bracelet, being made for a special birthday.

The brief is to produce a bespoke one-of-a-kind bracelet. For the purpose of improving the visual interest, we’ve painted up the initial sketch (which is not usually done). We chatted with the client, to get a clear idea of what she is hoping for. She wants something unusual, which can be worn every day.

From the initial pencil sketches, she chose the upper one of the two ideas shown. The design fee has been paid, which will be deducted from the final cost of the piece.

Stage 1 of our 3 stage process is now completed.

The next stage is to re-draw this bracelet again on the computer (CAD)
showing the bracelet in photo realistic form

Step 2

Wednesday 4th March 2009

Ok; so here we are at stage 2. As you can see, we now have re-drawn the bracelet, as a photo realistic CAD image.
Our client has approved the image and decided on yellow connecting rings instead of white.

Weights have been calculated, a confirmed price has been given and the 30% deposit paid.

The model is now ready to be cut on our CNC machine. When the model has been cut, it's on to the casting stage.Sometimes clients ask to see the blue wax model, before casting, which is no trouble at all.

So as you can see, all the links have now been cast and the bracelet has started to be constructed. We like to pay particular attention to the polishing stage, as a good finish is crucial to the overall effect of the finished piece.

In the last phase of this commission we show the finished article ready to hand over to our client

Unique to the
wearer

The really special part to this piece of jewellery is that it is totally unique to the wearer.

The gold links are solid, therefore having a lovely weight to it; making it a piece that can be worn every day.
We'll let you know how it's received, once she has collected it!

"Thank you for your patience and guiding me through the enjoyable process of turning a dream into reality! The bracelet is exactly what I wanted and it was so exciting seeing it take shape, step by step, on your marvelous new web site.
Your beautiful designs make the difference between buying a lovely piece of jewellery and acquiring an unique heirloom. Once again, thank you - I just love it and am going to enjoy wearing it for the rest of my life."
