Giving jewellery as a surprise gift
|
| Giving jewellery as a surprise, can mean so much more than just the present itself. Especially if buying a surprise present, isn’t something that you’d normally do.
The aim of giving a surprise gift, is to delight the recipient with both your gesture and the item you’re giving, so it’s important to try and get it right.
Whilst I can’t tell you, exactly what you should buy, here are a few things to consider before you start:
|
Surprise jewellery gifts for a woman
|
| Modern? Is her preference for contemporary designs, that are a bit edgier than the normal items of jewellery?
Does she wear more traditional jewellery? We’d consider traditional to be diamond configurations, such as three stone and classical cluster rings etc.. .
Ethnic jewellery? ( think large coloured stones, craft based jewellery)
|
 |
| Do you want to give something that fits straight away? |
 |
This might be essential, as part of the surprise.
Earrings or a pendant can be put straight on, with the guarantee that they’ll fit straight away.
If you want to give a ring, you may need to do some groundwork; perhaps squirreling a ring away, to measure its diameter. Or enlisting the help of a friend, to get the information.
|
| Does she have a metal preference? |
| Does she wear predominately yellow gold or white metals?
Does she have any allergies that make it imperative she wears purer metals, like platinum?
|
| Would she wear a statement piece? |
| Something big and bold?
Perhaps she’d like to be adventurous in her tastes. Wearing a statement piece of jewellery, that has people passing comment on it, can be a real boost to the confidence.
|
|
Does she like diamonds? My advice would be that you’re always onto a winner with diamonds.
But perhaps you’ve noticed that she wears jewellery which is not set with gems. Ask yourself; is this a preference, or would she like precious stones in the jewellery?
If you think she’d like coloured gems, think about the colours she favours and wears, perhaps use those shades as a guide.

Does she have pierced ears?

| A simple question, I know, but not everyone has, so be sure you know. |
| Give some thought to the presentation of your surprise gift. Sometime gifts are concealed until the last moment, (which is thankfully convenient as most pieces of jewellery are small.) Gift wrapping always adds to a special event; adding to the excitement and anticipation. |
