The 4 C's

                Carat

This is the unit of weight measurement for gemstones. 1 carat  = 200mg or 0.2g. The carat is further sub-divided into points, with 100 points = 1carat .A one carat diamond in a well proportioned brilliant cut measures about 6.5mm in diameter.
Sherry Jewellery can help you make a choice, based upon your own preferences and budget. Whilst we generally supply above average quality of material for one-off pieces, all grades are available to you.

               Colour

Diamonds are considered to be the most desirable, if they are colourless or pure white. Colour grading for diamonds is by means of letter, ranging from D for colourless, through to Z for yellow/brown stones. These letters are recognised universally. Sherry Jewellery generally uses F to I colours but all grades can be supplied.

                Cut

Cut describes the way that the stone is facetted’ in order to bring out the beauty and reflected colour. The skill of the individual diamond cutter is very important to the final look of the diamond. A well proportioned diamond will allow light to enter the stone, be refracted
around and back to the eye. The cut is sometimes referred to as the “make” Here at Sherry Jewellery we believe this to be often over looked feature when selecting to a certain budget.

              Clarity

Diamonds are made of carbon. Within each diamond, there are often traces of none crystallised carbon’ which are termed as “inclusions” The fewer inclusions, within a diamond the greater the value of the stone. Sherry Jewellery can help you make a choice, based upon
your own preferences and budget. Following an enquiry, a selectionof diamonds can be viewed to help assist you in your decision. Whilst we generally sell above average quality diamonds for one-off pieces, we can show you all types of grade to suit your diamond budget.
