How we work using the the latest technolgy
|
After a few pencil sketches to illustrate our working ideas, we then use CAD (computer aided design), allowing us to fully illustrate our designs for each inquiry.
Realistic, virtual photographs, show exactly how the finished jewellery will look; illustrating each piece in a clearer way than ever before. This takes out the 'guess-work' that a drawn-up design may leave you with.
All this in done in house, allowing us to produce some beautiful images, precise models and spectacular results and all within a short time scale. |

... as a technical designer, I had very specific requirements; they understood my requirements fully and executed the subtlety and nuance of the design with expertise.
The whole experience was very personal, friendly but professional in every regard. I would have no reservations in utilizing the services of Sherry Jewellery again or recommending them...
Heartfelt thanks,
G Bartlett.

the advantages...
|
| When our company started, we used only the traditional methods of designing and goldsmithing, but adding CAD has increased the possibilities even further. Any up-to-date designer will be using CAD, but we're glad to have straddled both eras. Our understanding of design and 'wearability' are all the better for having experience in both disciplines |
| Pencil & watercolour illustrations |
Photo realistic image |
| before CAD |
| Previously our designs were watercolour illustrations little works of art in their own right! |
| But sometimes its was difficult to imagine the piece of jewellery from a different angle, however beautiful the illustration may be. CAD allows us to show you your design in a photo realistic form and move it around, so you can check it from every angle |
| You can even view your design in different metals, silver, gold, or platinum. We can tell you how much your commission will weigh and how much it will cost, in a variety of metals. We can even add weight or take it away at this review stage. |
| When you're happy with a design, we create a machining file to drive our CNC machine or our rapid prototyping machine. We either CNC cut your design from a lump of traditional blue modeller's wax or we 'grow' a 3-D wax model of the piece. This modelling stage often takes many hours. Either way, an incredibly accurate model is made. The finished wax is then cast in the traditional way, in silver, gold or platinum: the choice is yours! |
