The days of pencil illustration have all but gone except for the initial sketches. We now use CAD/CAM (computer aided design)and (computer aided machining) The software we use has been especially developed for jewellery industry. This allows us to illustrate our design expertise and creativity in a clearer way then ever before.
All this in done in house allowing us to produce some beautifully precise models with spectacular results and all within a fairly short time scale. |

..."Just a note to thank you so much for all the care and attention you gave us in making our Wedding rings - from our first meeting with you, numerous emails and phone calls and finally, the re-sizing of the Andrew's ring at your lovely studio.
Your professionalism, enthusiasm and creativity made the whole experience a delight and we are absolutely thrilled with our rings which are perfect for us - just can't wait to put them on in August!. We will certainly recommend you to our friends and family!
Many Thanks and Kind Regards"
Tamsen & Andrew.

the advantages...

When our company started, we used only the traditional methods of designing and goldsmithing, but adding CAD has increased the possibilities even further. Any up-to-date designer will be using CAD, but we're glad to have straddled both eras. Our understanding of design and 'wearability' are all the better for having experience in both disciplines

| Pencil & watercolour illustrations |
Photo realistic image |
| before CAD |
| Previously our designs were watercolour illustrations little works of art in their own right! |
| But sometimes its was difficult to imagine the piece of jewellery from a different angle, however beautiful the illustration may be. CAD allows us to show you your design in a photo realistic form and move it around, so you can check it from every angle |
| You can even view your design in different metals, silver, gold, or platinum. We can tell you how much your commission will weigh and how much it will cost, in a variety of metals. We can even add weight or take it away at this review stage. |
| When you're happy with a design, we create a machining file to drive our CNC machine ( the CAM bit). This cuts your design from a lump of traditional blue modeller's wax ,fixed to the CNC machine. This cutting stage often takes many hours. Some of the cutting tools we use are no thicker than a needle! The finished wax is then cast in the traditional way, in silver, gold or platinum: the choice is yours! |
